Hi I have a 1.6 cc and I have noticed that when I go to refuel that the petrol pump keeps cluncking out on me as if the petrol tank is full although I have an empty tank and only put about £2 in!! If I don't pull up the handle fully it seems to work OK with no cluncking.
Has anyone else experienced this problem or am I just being a girlie who can't seem to refuel properly?!!

NickiB,
It's a known foible/fault with the 206cc. Poor design of the pipe which goes into the tank. Only suggestions are; try not to insert the whole of the nozzle into the opening+pull handle on nozzle only halfway up as before !. Airflow is needed at the tip of the nozzle to allow fuel to settle down into the tank the poor design of the 206cc inlet tube means that when too strong a flow of fuel is flowing it "backs-up"cutting off airflow +giving the same signal to the pump as thou the tank is already full !.

After searching around a bit i have found those stations in my neighbourhood where there is no problem with filling. There are no connections between the filling problems and what firm the station is. I beliwed it depended on the pressure they use on their hoses (how fast the petrol is coming out).

I was told that if you are filling a pretty much empty tank, the air that is trapped inside affects the sensor on the pump thingy which causes it to stop. Apparently if you take the whole nozzle out then put back in (usually at a 45 degree angle) it should work.
BUT....
I can never seem to fill my 2.0 up to the top. The petrol pump will stop several times as if to tell me the tank is full but on the display it says almost full

as you say it's a problem with the airlock which is designed to cut the nozzle out when the tank is full.
i've experienced the problem intermittently with my CC, but, also, with my nissan company car. i think it depends on the pump as much as anything. airlocks can sometimes need re-calibrating, apparently.
