Re: cylinder Head
I assume you have the SOHC engine with an aluminium block.
If so Haynes says,
Lubricate the threads and underside of the heads of the cylinder head bolts lightly with clean engine oil.
Stage 1 20 Nm (15 lbf ft)
Stage 2 Angle tighten a further 240 degrees
Work progressively and (looking from the front of the car as you are working) in sequence starting at the rear centre bolt then front centre bolt, then working outwards front bolt to left of centre, then rear bolt to left of centre, then rear bolt to right of centre, then front bolt to right of centre, then left front bolt, then left rear bolt, then right hand rear bolt and finally right hand front bolt.
Better still invest in Haynes manual no. 4613. Well worth the £15 or so that it will cost you if you buy from the right place.

Arrow denotes front of car (ring gear shows on r/h side of engine when viewed from front)
