one of the many microswitches perhaps, I'd start at the one in the boot checking the cover is closed...

Ive looked at switch in boot and it appears to be working ok. I was wondering if it could be a fuse? Do we know if the roof has a designated fuse as it doesnt say so in the owners manual

If my memory serves me correctly there are micro switches in the handles. One of these may have become disconnected or damaged. The micro switch is possibly just stuck closed. Mark the location of the handles with tipex should you have to remove them. The micro switches are pretty inexpensive, but it will probably just be a case of bending them back in to position.
