Hi there all! :)

I was just wondering when the rear brake pads should need replacing. :( My car has just gone in for its 20,000 mile service and I got a call today from the dealer to say they needed to replace the rear pads as they won't pass the 30,000 safety check. Is this normal or should they last longer :?:

They suggested the front ones might need changing soon, but I pointed out that they were replaced in 09/2003 due to the squeking. It went in for this also and they said they have fixed it again.

You're lucky. They didn't even check mine. But yes, mine will need replacing by 25,000 at a rough estimate.

Maybe get a second opinion.

My car is now 3 years old, passed the MOT. It's done 35k and not had the back pads changed.
Front pads changed @ 25k.

I had new pads all round and new front discs at 30k. I stop a lot quicker now  Try kwikfit for pads - they quoted me £55 for rear (as opposed to £120+ from the monkeys). I went with Pug for discs and pads (seeing as they were in stock and could fit them at the same time)
