I was just wondering when the rear brake pads should need replacing. My car has just gone in for its 20,000 mile service and I got a call today from the dealer to say they needed to replace the rear pads as they won't pass the 30,000 safety check. Is this normal or should they last longer :
They suggested the front ones might need changing soon, but I pointed out that they were replaced in 09/2003 due to the squeking. It went in for this also and they said they have fixed it again.
I had new pads all round and new front discs at 30k. I stop a lot quicker now Try kwikfit for pads - they quoted me £55 for rear (as opposed to £120+ from the monkeys). I went with Pug for discs and pads (seeing as they were in stock and could fit them at the same time)
