Couldn't agree more. This was a question for the pedant I think you will find that there are botnical definitions which are more refined than the common usage. Banana are commonly considered fruit. The pedantic botanist would not agree
The english language is dynamic meaning of words can change
Look at the dictionary the word Decimate has two meanings it comes from the latin decimare which has a very diferent meaning to the common usage.

As far as I'm concerned, it's a fruit. What type of fruit it is can be argued about but not by me.
I was always taught that if the seeds were on the inside, it's a fruit (apples, pears, bananas, tomatoes etc) otherwise it's a vegetable - unless it's a fungus, of course. A very general and not always accurate definition, but a somewhat useful one nonetheless.
