automatic gear box

Gearbox was replaced this week and this has completely cured my problems. The transmission is now smooth and responsive and does exactly what I want it to do.

The monkeys seem to have managed to connect it up properly without mucking up the software

The adaptive process is good as long as you know what it does (it makes it drive sporty or relaxed according to your weight on the accelerator at any one time- note Moush your dealer was bull sh****ng you about it adapting over months

Yes Eye See - it does stay in a low gear if you are accelerating hard going up hill - if you want it to change up sooner you have to ease off a bit.

The seven months of uncertainty whether I had bought a dud are over at last and I plan to start all over again enjoying it.

So folks - don't be put off buying an automatic if that's what you want, but insist that it functions properly

I'm still really pleased with my automatic. The gear changes are smooth and appropriate and it can be relaxed or sporty according to how I'm feeling.

The 'winter' setting is very useful in traffic as it makes the car start in 2nd gear (there's ample acceleration and no labouring, on the flat or slight slopes) so it's not always straining at the brakes. It also makes it change up at slightly lower speeds than normal.
