Now then. There was an idea last time that people could club together and buy a (spare) wheel each.

As a guide, list price is around £110, tyres can be had for around £90 so we're talking £200 per wheel brand new from a supplier inc. VAT & fitting.

Actually, it's now £399 for the 4 wheels which would make them around £180-£190 new, with tyres.

Quite. I'm not sure where you're going to get 4 16" alloys plus 4 Goodyear Eagle F1s for £500.
£500 between 4 people means £125 for a decent full size spare wheel. As long as there's nothing wrong with the wheel and the tyre's reasonable I reckon that's a fair enough price.
The only slight problem I see is if you got a puncture on the wrong side of the car
