Re: Ignition and window opens
Struggling to get pp2000 usb drivers to work on my laptop in any mode virtual or otherwise so have bought an old crappy xp laptop off ebay for this sole purpose.
So while that turns up attention is on the roof.
Had a really good going over this roof now and can get it to operate properly until the roof drops into the boot then nothing the pump just whirrs away until it cuts out at which point I have to release hydraulic pressure and raise the roof manually and hotwire the relays to pump the bootlid shut from which point it will work properly again (until it gets to the same point). When it stops at the roof in the boot part, if I raise the roof it shuts correctly and beeps at the end.
The other day I had someone helping me and when it got to the roof in the boot part while he was operating the switch I managed to pull the parcel shelf up upon which the roof stopped working alltogether and couldnt lower the shelf again and stuck with roof down unable to close it so we ended up forcing it down because it was late at night.
In the roof operation video it shows you a white cord being pulled to lower the shelf, my car is missing this cord and i've had a relly good look at this part and I cant see how its possible to quick release a hydraulic piston under pressure (even with the tap open in the video) and it drop down so quickly like in the video, cant see anything it connects too either can someone enlighten me on that please?
It's obviously got something to do with the rear parcel shelf not operating, even with the hydraulic tap undone the shelf is proper solid to move like it is hydraulically locked.
Can anyone shed any light on this?
Cheers

Re: Ignition and window opens
Ok got an old xp laptop and pp2000 working spot on with it, have done a full diagnostic check and a lot more faults than i expected but main one seems to be consistant with them all speed sensor not working so will check that out when its not raining.
How do you save the results in pp2000? I saved it to a memory slot in the program but how do I read this out of the program to say paste a copy on here?

Re: Ignition and window opens
Bump and a little bit of an update, the roof stopped working again and played musical tunes and would only work again after connecting up the pp2000 to it again and resetting the codes for the roof yet again, so this part right here must be the reason that most faulty roofs stop working completely it's because the ecu needs fault codes clearing.
Also discovered whats gone wrong with my roof and its the arm part that the window pushes up when it folds into the boot. Adjusted the microswitch till it clicks on contact and its working spot on now well chuffed.

Re: Ignition and window opens
Another update, (Capncol seems like you are the only one active on this forum the rest just come to ask about their own faults or dont give a damm), can get the roof to open fully and boot close fully but the parcel shelf doesnt operate so still got a faulty sensor somewhere there.
Got some screen shots from pp2000 of faults found, I have bought a new speed sensor just havent fitted it yet just thought i'd mention that as its flagged up in every single catagory that has a fault so is related system wide.
Bit clueless what all these items are that its flagged up.

Only permanant seems to be speed sensor. Suggest you change, clear faults and re-scan.
Cheers Col.

Re: Ignition and window opens
I'm here for the duration guys im not a one problem hero
Got a bit further, I had got the parcel shelf ram pipes connected (17,18) the wrong way round so thats popping up and dropping down now but because we had to force it down at some point its bent out of position and will need bending back or replacing so the roof cycle isnt quite finishing due to the final click on the top microswitch not happening and the ecu is picking it up and flagging a fault (and disabling the roof annoyingly)
Drivers window has started dropping down a random amount almost everytime the brake pedal is pressed or rear screen demister is turned on, yesterday I stripped off the boot wiring loom to check the wires, especially where they are exposed at the near side flexible part, all fine nothing split open, shorted or broken.

Re: Ignition and window opens
Have you pulled every fuse, every relay and all connections to douse them on wd40. There is a bad connection somewhere as you know it is just a matter of finding it.

Re: Ignition and window opens
I have pulled all the fuses but based on what ive read about the bsi/fusebox being affected from just unplugging stuff ive not removed any relays or multiplugs.
The bootlid loom plug had a wad of blue corrosion on 1 pin of the multiplug that i cleaned up so will go round the entire car after putting the bsi to sleep.
Just need it to stop raining atm.
Any idea how to remove the passenger airbag? Ive taken the 4 10mm nuts off the back but the bugger wont shift.

Re: Ignition and window opens
Another update, have pulled all fuses and connections now and found one missing from the engine fusebox have put in a 30 amp (heater and glovebox light now working). The heater didnt work before so have removed the glovebox and heater motor and replaced the heater resistor inside the motor body, found a blue plug disconnected in the nearside A frame and reconnected it (now drivers window doesnt drop with just ignition on and works properly at all times) also replaced the speed sensor, when I say replaced I removed the old one and got covered in the nice sweet smelling stuff called gearbox oil and struggled like hell to get the new one in which still wont go fully in, what a pain in the arse it is to get to this part.
Diagnostic is still saying speed sensor is short ciruited to earth though so must be the dash speedo and yes interior light flashes when a door is opened.
Also broke top gear link
while trying to get to it so cant drive it till a replacement comes
The air bag fault has been rectified, the left ignition module open circuit was the airbag sensor bolted to the nearside sill under the carpet, unplugged it and reconnected after giving the wiring a jiggle, also removed the passenger seat and seen how poor the connector is have reconnected that.
