All, I have confirmed with my dealer that in Australia the seat provided is intended for the rear seat. Copy of his explanation follows;
"Yes the child seats go in the back. We needed them in Aust. to comply with ADR regulations. Europe is not the same. There is no requirement for baby seat anchorage points there, however you cannot put the seat in the front passenger side if airbags are fitted. Over there you can disable the
passenger airbag with a key if you want to.
The baby seat supplied here is a little different to normal baby seats and should be passed on to the next owner. As part of ADR requirements the baby seat is standard safety item, therefore when the car is sold second hand it must be there in order to gain a Roadworthy Certificate."
Trust this helps to clarify. An option for our European friends might be to get a seat the same as we have here and have the modification done on the rear seat for the anchor point.
Please let me know if I can be of further assistance.

I'd say the answer is no for the UK. Only reason I say it is I recall my dealer pointing out the modification and saying that on some cars the job hasn't been done well and the trim on the back panel lifts.
I'll settle this with some pics tomorrow. Anyone wantinfg them sooner than they're posted pm me and I'll send them through

Hi !
My wife and I are expecting a baby, so she wants me to sell my CC  to get something a bit more baby-oriented. Nevertheless, she has her own car, and it's also not very baby-friendly (Mitsubishi Pajero Pinin). So far so good, since the CC has ISOFIX mount points, plus a big trunk, etc, etc... But here (Portugal) we can't have child seats on the front seat. So I'm down to her last argument, which is that a child seat can't fit on the back
. So the above picture would be my next proof, but I can't see it
! Was it deleted ? Can someone post pictures of their CC and a child seat on the back pleeeeease ????

Hi - I'm a new owner (in Dublin).
Also looking for a car seat, this time I'm looking for a booster seat for a 5 yr old. My 5 yr old daughter sits in the back of the car but cannot see out the windows.
I have a simple booster seat already (Mothercare) but the base is a bit too wide (and the seat is not very comfortable anyway).
The owners manual recommends the following:
- Klippan Optima
- Recaro Start (very expensive per their website)
Questions
1. Has anyone bought one of the above seats? Do they fit ok?
Where can you buy them?
2. Is it legal for a child to sit in the front seat of a car?
(I should know this already)
Thanks for any advice
Kitty
