Had the car less than a week, but decided that we didn't want to live with a few lights being out on the dash.
We had 2 in the multi function display gone, leaving it readable but not looking good, and 2 gone in the heater controls, meaning we could see the temperature at night, but not where it was blowing!
What a game of two halves...
The 2 bulbs in the MFD are easy peasy to change, the top cover simply 'pops' off, leaving 2 torx screws to undo, then the MFD unit comes away, and the bulb holders twist and turn out of the back.
Alas, the heater control is no such quick task!
The stereo has to completely come out.
The front cover of the dash comes out (2 torx screws at the top, then a few clips - be careful!)
4 torx screws hold the heater unit in place.
You can then twist the unoit around whilst still in the dash, and view the rear. At this point Peugeot have cruelly teased us, as it looks like you can remove the bulbs with the unit in place. Ohhhh Noooooo you can't!!
The heater controls have to be very very carefully taken out (then look for the clips which WILL have pinged off and flew into some crevice of the car...) Then take the ISO connector out.
The unit will then with some jiggery come free of the dash. Next job is to open it up, which looks like it should be easy, but again, nope! Slowly prize the clips open, then wedge it open with a screwdriver whilst doing the rest.
That reveals the bulbs, which can then be changed, if you can get them out of the holders that are in the circuit board!!! I ended up using a rubber glove and a pair of pliers - WARNING - be very very very gentle, as if the bulb breaks whilst in the holder, I can't imagine how it would then come out
It was pretty much dark by this point, so putting it all back together was a nightmare! As I started, I glimpsed a red smear on the white heater control cable, then looked at my hand, which was pumping blood out of my little finger!!
The rest of the re-fit was carried out with a dirty cloth wrapped around it, which added to the difficulty, as you can imagine.
Just as I was finishing, the economy mode flashed on as I was using the interior light, so now I'm going to have to follow the Handbook's advice and take it on a run to charge the battery up!
I'm really pleased with the results, a fully lit up dashboard, but if one goes again, I'd question whether to replace it, or just live with it!
