Re: Hi new member with a problem
thanks for the reply i did think mounts but its grinding when i spin the wheels by hand as well are the inner joints common to fail on these cars?
oh also the gearbox feels sloppy and the biting point on the clutch is high could this make any knocking if there was a problem with the clutch or gearbox?

Re: Hi new member with a problem
Assuming it's a manual box, if it's not a mount, it could be gearbox or diff failing hence the grinding noise?? If you have a couple of teeth missing on the crownwheel, you can get a sort of banging noise. It sounds very harsh & mettalic if so.
Are you sure the grinding noise isn't just the pads rubbing the disc when you rotate the wheel? Have you tried it with the pads out?

Re: Hi new member with a problem
Pollen filter is in the heater intake, nothing to do with MIL light

Re: Hi new member with a problem
i know this is a old post but i thought i would up date it
ok so the noises were 3 things one was the passenger side outer cv joint, second thing was the top engine mount buffers were worn and the mount bracket was cracked!(pass the mot like it to) third thing is the gearbox failing i think, ive got the box out today going to fit another one tomorrow if i can get some new drive shaft seals, then i will take the old gearbox part to see what was failing, last time i drove it it sounded like spanners going round in a washing machine lol.
