Hi, I`ve had a search about, but can`t seem to find the answer to this specific problem that`s recently appeared with my g/fs 51 plate, 2002 2.0l CC.

She`s only had the car for about 4 months, & when she puts the roof either up or down, the windows dont automatically open/close as they should (I`ve never actually witnessed the car do this, & can`t get to the car until next weekend at the earliest, so I only know what she`s told me). :(

Now, from reading various posts on here, I believe it to be either worn wiring by the boot hinge, or a dodgy micro switch, but the odd thing is that it only ever happens when the weather is cold, when it`s warm, everything is normal.

I`m deffinately leaning towards an iffy micro switch, but which one actually controls the windows, as from looking at the micro switch location diagram, it doesn`t actually mention the windows?

Am I heading in the wrong direction with this assumption, & if I am, could anyone kindly point me in the right direction?

I do all my own servicing & maintenance work (used to work in a Ford dealership a few years ago), but don`t know my way around a 206. :(

Any advice would be very much appreciated. :)

Many thanks, Fred.

Afraid you will have to be a bit patient, not everyone on this forum has the technical knowledge to help you, I'm sure someone will be along at some point, afraid I don't personally know the answer to your question though.

Hi Globetrotter, thanks for the reply. :)

I was starting to think that I was being ignored. :(

Like I say, I`ve been working on cars for 30+ years, but I don`t know anything about the 206, & don`t see the point of her wasting money/having the hassle of taking it somewhere, when I can most probably do it myself, I just need to know where to start.

No Laura, that is normal. You do have to put the windows back up yourself.
