Bit of a swine ... the indicators have gone intermittent in our ccse (no ... not onoffonoff - ah ha, they're fine! :) ) Initially signalling left wouldn't do anything but right was fine, now it seems to be the other way around. Bascically this is my wife's motor, she can'twon'tdon't want her to drive it like this so I've brought it to work so that I can spend my lunch hour fixing it ... it needs to be done so that I can stop the double office run morning and night while we work with 1 good car.

So - I've trawlled the forum and reckon torx drivers are needed, happily got some of those. How many screws come out of the dash cover - I can see 2 but would rather a heads up now than wasting my valuable lunch hour hunting around getting the cowling off. Are there any clips that need to be gently uncliped? Once the cowling is off what should I head for? Given that its an intermittent problem (it'll work if I pushshove the steering column cover) I reckon its going to be the levelswitch. Are these problems usually due to alignmentfixing to the column ... or contacts that need cleaning in the switch ... or worst still something I can't repair and will have to hack off finding replacment parts for?

Appreciate these aren't straight forward questions, that my car might be suffering from a different problem from those fixed previously but all info gratefully recieved in the hope of getting this job sorted and the car back on the road safe & sound. If you've some info to help please include as much detail as possible ! :)

Cheers
Duncan

Well ... lunchtime has been and gone so here's some feedback to my own post :) A torx T20 driver is required to undo the 2 screws at the outer corners of the lower plastic wheel surround, once loosened (didn't drop out) the lower section comes off, release the wheel adjust and lower the wheel and the top section will wiggle off too. Once off time to put the look of dispair on :( I hadn't appreciated the "no serviceable part" attitude of the multiplexed stalk controller. Other than pulling and reconnecting the 3 connector blocks theres nothing else I could get at (strangely that didn't fix the problem either) ... ho hum - its a complete assembly that goes round the steering column and needs the wheel to be removed. Pug quoted £236 fitted to replace this part (st albans dealer) ... when I spoke to the guys in Amersham who supplied the car, have done all the servicing, and replaced this same part for the same reason july 03 they coughed and said that pug are aware of the problem and it'll be repaired for free (my favourite word).

hurrah - not quite fixed in a lunchbreak ... but certianly organised ! :)
