The best one in Australia ?????? From all the features you described, it sounds like pretty much stock standard. Anyway, good luck with the sale ....... i am sure you will find a good buyer and there will be no need for the insurance job !!!!

I am hoping to get a 307cc, or maybe the new mini cabriolet!

It certainly won't be a boring car :D

I have been considering the TT as well.

The new megane with the glass roof is very pretty too. I always liked the megane :)

Then there is always a nice BMW to consider...

DECISIONS DECISIONS

Either way, I have loved my CC and it will be a sad day to see her go

*pouts*

So if you know of anyone that is jealous of your CC, and they want one of their very own, tell them to get in touch with me.

I used to work in a few car yards in the past, so I will do a good sell job on them.

I can't wait for my new car!

I've got a MINI Cooper S Cabrio on order and take delivery in April. If you're thinking of getting one you had better move quickly. All allocations in Australia for 2005 are almost sold out. In talking with my dealer the other day they had 5 cars left in their allocation and if you ordered one now it would be September delivery. I ordered mine in mid December prior to the lauch here in Oz. Was as it turns out great timing.

I'll be putting my CC up for sale in the next couple of weeks.
Cheers

Thanks for the info Frosty.

I think I might go for a brightly coloured beetle convertible, I saw one today and they are so cute!

The mini cabriolet was because there aren't many in aus, that's the only reason I would get it.

Besides, I used to sell cars, I know dealers, and I know of a dealer here in Canberra that if I talk nicely to him, he will sell me his floor stock one due in soon. It's good to know people in the industry ;)

hahaha u guys are such easy believerS haha the dealers are full of BULLSHIT CUZ I GUARANTEE YOU I WILL GET A CABRIO S ANY TIME ANYWHERE. I HATE IT HOW THEY LIE TO CUSTOMERS ABOUT SUPPLY AND DEMAND. THINK ABOUT IT DO THEY WANT BUSINESS OR NOT? SURE ALOT OF PEOPLE LOVE THE CABRIO BUT THIS AINT A IPOD WHERE U CAN JST GRAB SOME CASH AND BUY IT. IT IS A BIG PURCHASE AND THE DEALERS TRY HARD TO SELL THEM. EVEN IF THEY LIE. THE RULE IS TO ALWAYS WAIT A FEW MONTHS AFTER THE RELEASE OF THE NEW CAR B4 U PURCHASE IT WILL SAVE MONEY AND PROBABLY A FEW LIES.......

HI MOBB88 and thank you for your input to this discussion.

I am sure your "YELLING" in this forum is an oversight on your part having left your caps lock on.

Please ensure that "caps lock" is off when you post next.

 a very 'frosty' post, Frosty. Although, have to say caps annoy the hell out of me too!

I've been bitten by the Mini bug too, but if I was to get one it would be an old roundie - not one of those new faingled ones. It would just be a hobby car, not a daily driver.

But so far as replacing the PUG, the SLK is the absolute winner in my books (so long as my bank manager lets me !).

Incidentally, the Tigra, that our UK counterparts seem to be migrating to enmasse, will be available Downunder in the second half of this year. What do we think of that ?
Cheers,
Michael

Just doing what I am meant to as a moderator.

I was really impressed with the new Mini. The build quality is excellent and boy does the Cooper S go. I too love the SLK but I can't justify spending that much on a car. The trouble with Merc's is the options are so expensive so getting a car with a decent spec adds so much to the cost of the car. Interestingly the options on the Mini were very reasoanbly priced. For instance Xenon lights were $1150 yet on a BMW they're $2500 - work that out!

don't mind me, I was only joshing with the 'frosty' comment. couldn't resist it, I like playing with words, but sometimes it doesn't come across right in black and white.

build quality is definitely lacking in the pug, should be a welcome change for you. I hear you loud and clear on the merc and options, but its a bloody nice looking car. gonna hafta save quite a few pennies if I'm gonna get one of those, methinks. were you a mini enthusiast before the new ones came out or do you just like the new ones?
Cheers,
Michael

Probably fair to say the New Mini was what grabbed my attention. Once I drove one (a Cooper S) it won me over. That "go kart" feel, responsive engine and great build quality all came together to win me over. I had looked at the 307CC but I found it uninspiring - despite it being the sports model I found it very sluggish off the mark. The 307CC seems to have better build quality that the 206CC but it's lack of power really lets it down in my opinion.

I should have my Mini in a few weeks, so my CC will be going on the market very shortly.
Cheers

I drove a friend's 307 and was similarly unimpressed. You will have fun in the Mini.

Looks like a mass exodus from this board of late. Everyone is changing cars!

Maybe there should be some new categories for Mini's, Tigras, SLK's, etc... it would make an excellent resource for those of us who are not updating just yet.
Cheers,
Michael
