206 eratic reving

Hi,

Just found this website and hoping to get some info from you guys.
Has anyone had a problem with the following on their Peugeot 206

Diagnostic light coming on and eratic revving when idle, up to 3000 revs
accelerator suddenly not working when driving along, revs go to 0, car eventually stops.
Once started it then works.
When the diagnostic light comes on the car jumps forward.

Thanks for any info, am losing the will to live with people telling me different things
