Hi its Lally. I am a proud new owner of a SE 2.0L in aluminium (2004 54). The time to service counter isn't counting down. I am not too worried but does anyone know why. :)

It should count down immediately from when you start driving it.

Am I right in saying that what you mean, is that when you switch your engine on and the time to service figure comes up, its not decreasing at each engine start?

If so, I'd pop it into the dealers and get them to take a look. I should think they'll just be able to reset it or sort out the fault.

he's (or is it she i don't know lol) only done 200 miles ali :D

from memory i thought it only decreased by 500 miles or so at a time until it got closer to the service.

i'm not 100% sure as i have been CC less for 2 months now :?

Mine decreases in units of 10 miles....so I'd expect it to be moving after 200.

Unless they're different on the newer 2.0L to my poverty specced 03 1.6L

Yes Derek - if your can't won't run...the mileage won't increase and your mileage to service won't decrease. I think that's what you really mean! ;)

Since I had my 40,000 mile service done the indicator has counted UP, it was down to about 800 miles when it was done and since it has steadily increased to 3000......not worried as I know when it is due, unfortunately the mileage is still going up as well, otherwise I would have a CC that had done a negative number of miles in a couple of years lol.
