My wife's 206cc Quiksilver has a metal gear knob and it's absolutely freezing to touch in this cold weather.

I did put a little wooly cover I had for my golf putter on it but my wife wasn't impressed.

Has anyone found any better ways to keep your hands from freezing other than wearing gloves ?

think it was pauline (on this forum) that bought a mobile phone cover that was a santa's hat design that fitted the gear knob perfectly, kept it warmer over night then removed it in a morning :)

This has given me a fit of the giggles!! The thought of all those gear knobs with woolly hats!! Mind you, it's not a bad idea...my first winter with the CC and I've noticed it too.

Has anyone notice that the heater does not seem to be that good?

I have the 1.6 so it's not the climate thingy but it's terrible compared to my last carc.

Could just be me

I agree with the heater on the 1.6. When i purchased mine i was told that there was a quick screen clear on it. Well, it takes ages to clear. Wouldn't change it for the world though.

Mine is a 1.6 with the old fashioned dial controls - need to rely on aircon to demist or crank heating up full and point at windscreen plus it only heats the area infront of you as the cc has notoriously bad air circulation

I too have found the aluminium gear knob can be very cold on a winters morning, so I have taken to wearing leather gloves.
The heating on my cc (2.0) is very good, but the rear demist is abysmal  …….. takes for ever to clear the rear screen.

Freezing knob it is....Just put an old woolly sock over it which will make it much more bearable though.

It wouldnt help much covering it etc... we wear clothe to keep warm because it retain our body heat and not gain heat... since the gear knob dont have natural heat by iself covering it make no difference, it will still get to same temp as its surrounding anyway... so gloves on hands seem to be best bet or leather knob for winter

I had a flashing santa hat for my CC (Thank you Pauline!)

You can get them in Safeway I believe for about 40p this year.

 They also do a rudolf this year, but the antlers get in the way a bit.

I found the polyester type (like Safeways) a bit tight, try to find one made in a jersey-type material as they stretch easier :D I got my jersey one in Tescos.
