I've had my new cc for the last 2 months now. 4 days ago i had the engine lubes changed, however instead of the original esso lubes i had it replaced with what i thought was a superior lubes, Mobil 1 (with Supersync) 5W50 Fully Synthetic. The oil filter was replaced with the original part & nothing else.
A little problem encountered on the same day. I noticed the engine temp was slightly higher than usual, i.e., above 90. i then had problem starting the car (3 attempts at the ignition) and when i checked the temp gauge again, it was getting very near to the 'red' zone. This all happened evening of the same day i had the lubes replaced. The cc is in my garage since.
Anyone any thoughts why?

Oil correct weight? viscosity yes but where do i find out about the weight?
I might have overfilled the oil slightly. but could this be a cause for the temp overrun? or perhaps performance oil prefers working at higher temp.?
Anyway, i took my car in for an immediate replacement yesterday. Got back Esso Ultron 5W40 Fully Synthetic. Drove it hard last night and temp stayed consistently below 90.
TQ
