Just bought a Y plate 206 cc and love it to bits but there are a few things I haven't figured out and can't find in the manual.

(This is going to make me sound such a blond (I am) but here goes  )

Firstly is the key, there are two buttons on it. The first obviously locks and unlocks the car (you can give me the credit for figuring that one out for myself!) but the smaller button above it - what does it do? It sounds like it is deadlocking the car, but is it something else?

My other question is what is the button on the right hand side of the steering wheel, (next to the display brightness), it has a small dot in the middle and lines radiating out from it. I figure it is either some alarm or heating thing but there isn't anything in the manual to say what.

Many thanks to anyone who can help out a numpty person like me :D !

Jlow,

For a y-Reg the small button on the key is the Deadlock. Blip this within 45sec of locking the car to enable the deadlock. Try it with the roof down and you shouldn't be able to unlock the car using the doors with the 'pull up posts'

I'm not sure without looking but I think the button you’re talking about is to disable the movement sensors. Hold this in and blip the key to lock the car and you can keep Fido in the car to roast without the alarm going off.

Note: if you lock the car with the roof down the movement sensors are disabled anyway.
