Hi guys

Sad as it is we've trying to sell our May 2001 2.0SE CC - we have a mini cooper convertible coming soon as a change is needed, however even though our CC is as genuine as the day is long and in immaculate condition we cannot shift it and have had hardly any enquiries. I honestly don't think we're asking too much, it's done 36K, full pug history, cherry red with cloth and we're looking for offers around £10000, it has a DVLA CC plate which we're including and also a wind deflector.

Do you think we're asking too much??? Has anyone else failed to sell theirs? we went to one Pug specialist to see if they wanted the car and they said it was the wrong colour - now it's only my opinion but the red looks great and makes a change from silver etc (sorry all you silver and etc owners!)

So give me some feed back or even better a call if you want to buy it!!!

Hi Michael

Sorry I can't help. I would have thought coming into summer there would be a demand for it. Have you tried all the obvious areas to advertise it?
I was fortunate to have sold mine very quickly to another forum member.
I haven't checked but have you put it in the for sale section here - always worth it.
Hope you sell it soon and have fun with the mini

Hi julia

Long time no chat!!

Didn't realise that you had sold yours - what are driving now??

Had the car advertised in Auto Trader for two weeks and not a dicky bird!!
It's on the For Sale board so I guess we'll just have to wait!!

Take care
Michael - still a trendy teacher!!

I wondered if it was you the trendy teacher!

I live in Central London now and found I didn't need a car.
Boyfriend has a car and a motorbike so spending my money on the shopping instead for the time being!! ;)

Sorry to hear about you not being able to shift the CC. I remember when we all got them around the same time we thought we would never sell them!
The new mini convertible was having a little photo shoot near where I live in London a good few months back - nice looking car! 8) 8)

Hope you sell it soon!

Just out of interest are the other 206CC's in Auto trader selling or do you keep seeing the same cars being advertised week after week?

The reason I ask is some of the prices people ask on Autotrader seem to be somewhat on the optimistic side, especially when a lot of the time you can buy a brand new Import for not much more.

What is the general state of the secondhand 206CC market at the moment as there seems to be loads of them on the road these days and I guess the recent poor weather isn't helping people shift them secondhand.

How easy was it to sell on ebay? - I've had a quick look and there are some CC's on there with quite respectable bids.

How did you got about payment for the car and did anyone come and test driove first?

Cheers

Living it up in London hey Julia!!

it is funny how we wanted to keep our CC's forever and no don't! There's nothing wrong with our CC at all it's just Kate & I have always wanted a mini and it's not big enough for our needs as a 4 seater car but as the second car it's great so a Astro Black Cooper Convertible should be with us by the end of August. It drives so well and handles very differently to the CC but with the options is proving to be an expensive baby but with the tlc package we intend to keep it for 5 years and residuals look great - 98% in the first year!!

So trendy teacher will hopefully keep that status with the mini!!

Thanks

Michael

PS...Someone please by our CC!!!!

No, spelling was never a strong point with me however if you give me a class of kids I'll teach them music all day with no worries!!

I think my odd slips are minor in the great scheme of things - and I do believe that dont has an apostrpohe (ie don't) and it's usual to place a space after a comma when typing!!

Anyway, the mail was a reply to Julia and in future I'll PM her and save the petty comments thanks!

Was on Ebay for 5 Days Total..

On day 2 the then prospective buyer called me and asked if he could have an AA inspection carried out.. Yes no problem I said.. He said if the inspection was OK then he would pay full price..

On day 5, AA man came round, gave the car the OK.. 10 mins later the guy called me to say that he would buy the car, at the "buy it now" price.

He closed the deal on Ebay..
4 Days later he comes down from London with £10,500 in Cash, Sealed in bank bags..

Note: that this was the 1st time he saw the car in the flesh..I walked him through the basic operation.. He Drives away and Deal is closed..

I drive off in my new RenaultSport Clio 172..

i don't know your mileage but the car isn't metallic and you would expect to pay around £10.5k at a dealer for a Y reg. i think you will need to drop the price below £10k to get any interest.

You could be right Derek although we've been told to ask £10650 by our Pug dealership - one thinks that may well be too high hence we went for offers around £10000.
We really need to shift the car and we'll talk to anyone who wants to make us a reasonable offer.
Thanks for your comments though!
