Hi Guys!

I haven't been around the boards for a while and have just spent a while catching up etc......wow there are loads of new members!

Well I got married last November and now we are thinking about having kids and all that grown up stuff. Now I have read the thread about babies and CCs, but if I did sell my CC what car should I get? I thought about a Civic Type R, but being 3 door does this make it almost as impractical?

Hubby has an Impreza which can be used as the "family" car I just don't expect the baby to be able to sleep when its in the back due to that exhaust!!!!

The trouble is I like something with a bit of kick to it and something that people look at I wish my CC was bigger!!

Depends it you can be bother to have to climb in the back in order to get you child out everytime you park up. Type R is a great car with lots of power easily accessible.

What about the Focus ST170 not bad performance, similar price to the R type and it comes in a five door and an estate version, so plenty of room for prams and baby things.

From personal experience...

5 door and big boot highly recommended. (Our Audi A3 boot wasn't big enough!!)

Noise won't be an issue - they sleep through anything!

Once we got to toddler stage, then I changed mine for a 3 door and a car that was more fun than the babymobile! I was lucky that he wouldn't use a buggy from about 15 months...so didn't have to worry about getting that into a smaller boot.

Now we're into booster back and bum and he's happy in the cc (back or front).

One other consideration - car seats are not made for sports seats or low roofs - I had to shop around to find one that fitted decently for the different stages.

Hope that helps.

How about a Toyota Corolla T Sport? It's not the prettiest of cars but I've had mine for a year now with NO problems.

It comes in 3 or 5 door, is quicker than a Focus ST170 and my insurance is the same as my old 2.0 206cc :D

Me mates got a five door Golf GTi Turbo thats quite nice, as he needs baby space soon himself. The Focus is a lot better than any other ford i've been in/driven, but it's still a ford which would put me off. If you are uising the imprezza for when you're all out then why not just plug the baby seat into the front passenger seat and keep the cc?

We couldn't use our t-sport as its a 3 door and you can't turn off the front airbag, so it meant breaking your back climbing in
