Service was free (even though it's an import) but they asked if I wanted the brake test (£40) so I said yes please as just lately they've started making a really deep resonating noise, like when you rub your finger round a wine glass but much louder! As well as squeeeeeking!

So after an hour, they rang to say I needed new front discs (pitted and warped) and new pads all round.

Front discs & pads in stock = £217. Rear pads = £120 or something. So I said "HOW MUCH!!!" and only do the front.

Rang arround - Kwikfit = £55 and Humphreys = £42 so I said I'd bring it round to Humphreys once I picked it up.

Went to collect my CC and they said "it's your lucky day".

Uh?

"Even though you said only do the front, we did the back as well by mistake but cos you didn't authorise it, we can't charge you".

Oooh, thanks very much! So I got new discs and pads all round for £217 and they didn't charge the £40 check fee :D

And they did the brake recall and also the "dash around the lock" recall - what was that all about!!???

Cos it's an import, Pug UK aren't obliged to tell me but Motorpoint (importers) ARE legally obliged to - even though they obviously aren't doing it

In new cars the discs wear very fast. It's because manufactures use asbestos-free brake pads, think they are so hard that they wear those discs :( and squeek...

So whats the best thing to do then, get new brake pads when you get your new motor?

If so which ones?

I mean manufactures that all brake pad-manufactures use asbestos free pads, so it's a problem. Don't know if you change discs and pads what is the solution. In my race car disc wearing is no problem, even the pads in it are new ones.
Don't know if greenstuff pads are good for this disc-wearing problem.

I have been using Greenstuff pads for the last 500 miles and they still squeak. I think that the squeak is a combination of the discs and pads from peugeot. I've got some EBC Turbo Groove Discs on Order which I hope to get fitted on the weekend.

Hopefully this will be stop all squeaking.

PS Good thing about the Greenstuff pads is that they produce little brake dust making the alloys easier to clean now.

My drivers side window sqeaky after they had realigned the door but it only lasted a few weeks then went away.

Also my windows seem to struggle a bit. I wonder it is more of a trait than a problem.

Is the window slow/sticky with the ignition on/off?

I find that the windows work better with the ignition on. Also try using some of the Autoglym rubber/vinyl care on the window seal on the inside of the car. This might help it along.

will check about engine on/off.

how do i apply this.... do i have to just coat the rubber with the window down and won't this make the window smear ???

I just spray the stuff onto some spamspam Towel paper and then rub down the rubber on the inside of the rear window and also on the rubber seal on the outside.

Vinyl & Rubber care will flow down with your window :( making the window look :yuck:
Better choice for window seals is dry-silicone, i bought it from my local Peugeot dealer and it's a good stuff. It prevents windows to squeek  i use it whenever i wash the car.
