Fuel level not showing after filling up, dash showing ----

Had my car from new which was purchased June 2003 never had problem until today. I put petrol in as it was showing 'FUEL LEVEL LOW' and the gauge was quite low, when driving home I noticed that it hadn't registered anywhere, gauge still low and still bleeping telling me 'FUEL LEVEL LOW'. It's as if I havn't put any in (put Â£20 in). Has anyone else had this problem and how did you fix it, if I book it into local Peugeot takes a month!! Can't really wait.

Better take it to local Peugeot dealer to fix it

Or try to drive the car couple of days and refuel it, sensor may be jammed or something like that. But i wouldn't try to fix it self.
