T o save me crawling around in the car, how do I get cables through to the boot?

I have had a 4 channel amp fitted and new front speakers but I now want to put a sub in the boot, the cable is fitted as far as the reat seats (if you call them that !).

How do I get the cable into the boot? (Amp under passenger seat for info).

You'll want to go in under the carpet and then follow the transmission hump under the back seat and through one of the corners of the boot carpet.

Do this in broad daylight. Open the boot lid and make sure the blind is fully retracted (eg: same position which disables the roof mechanism). Now, unbolt the rear seat base (2 nuts) and raise the seat as high as you can go. It is very flexible and will not break. Now peer into one corner underneath the seat and try looking for the rear corner of the boot. You should see a bit of daylight where the carpet joins - this is where you'll be able to take your leads through.

Hope this helps.

Actually, I originally had my amp under the passenger's seat - but it took up too much room and I was a little concerned that car wash people might accidentally cause a short given that the +ve & -ve terminals were (1) exposed; and, (2) so close together.

For that reason, I've moved the amp into the boot as well. In fact, I built a sub box big enough to accommodate the sub and both amp(s) - one amp for the sub and one for the front/rears.
Cheers,
Michael
