Hello All,

I've just bought myself a new Kenwood HU which I'm going to install ready for some top-down bank holiday cruising.

I was wondering if anyone else has installed a Kenwood HU in their CC? What's the wiring requirements like and should I bother getting my dealer to switch off something the BSI?

I'm also going to install my sub 'n' amp and, thanks to this forum, have the instructions as to how to to that. Is there anything I need to beware of?

Thanks for your help! :D

I had a Kenwood headunit in my CC which I've transferred to my 206 XSi. Wiring can be a bit of a pain depending on what model CC you have.

For pre-multiplex I think they pretty much plug straight in (feel free to correct me!)

However, for multiplex models (which I assume you have as you talk about the BSI) you will have to source a new illumination wire (I took it from the ashtray light) and you may also need to find an ignition power wire (on the CC I took mine from the cigarette lighter itself, but for my XSi one of the other wires on the ISO block worked).

As for the BSI, you don't need to disable it - Peugeot will charge you for the time taken and it makes no difference anyway.

Well, I've finnished fitting my new headunit, amp and 10" sub. I've kept the original speakers (for now!) and I've got to say it sounds fantastic. I can't believe how much bass comes through to the cabin - I was expecting a lot less because of the rear bulkhead. The headunit seems quick to pick up the file details from my MP3 CD's although the menu system has taken some getting used to!

I had a problem with my brake lights sticking on but, after I posted in the discussion forum, Lyndon pointed me in the direction of a plug in the passenger footwell which had been disconnected when I had the glovebox out (Thanks again Lyndon ;) ). I pushed it back in and all is well.

It's definately been worth it though, I'm really pleased with it
