Driver's side door - flush fitting

The driver's side door on my new CC doesn't seem to be as flush as it could be.

I'm not particularly bothered by this but should I be? Since I have had it there hasn't been any particularly heavy rain (except for a quick downpour this afternoon) so I have not fully tested if the roof will leak or not.

The car is going back to the garage on Tues for some niggles sorting out so do you think I should mention it or are they likely to make things worse?

These types of forums are fantastic for learning more about your cars but they can also but the fear of God into you. Driving home in the rain this afternoon I swear as was looking more to see if the roof was leaking than at the road.

you could mention it but if they re-align the door it MAY cause/start a leak

so if it doesn't leak at all from the start then maybe best to leave it alone

My 04 CC (had it almost a month now, how time has flown

) had a similar problem. When you closed the drivers door, the window would not always close correctly against the quarterlight seal. All you had to do to make it close properly was to press on the window and it "popped" into place.

I thought this was the seals "bedding in" - until the drivers door leak where the roof meets the windscreen struck. After the Zoo had replaced all the roof seals [all round], the drivers door closes fine each time and the window does not need pushing into place.

So the problem may not be with the alignment of your door - could be the roof seal. Hope you don't get the leak from the roof though.

It's just the door lock hook that is bolted to the car body. it's a simple fix using a torx tool, i think a T25, to move the hook inwards slightly.

I found this out the hard way when the hook came loose and I couldn't even close my door properly.

mine had it's door realingned last week as it cluncked when gouing over bumps. i now have wind noise from the top corner of the window that i didnt have before. guess it'll have to go back again for adjustment

They made the door fit a bit better and so far so good..... mind you it hasn't rained much!!

Mines is going in about my driver door, i either need to slam it very hard to close it properly or it takes a few attemps, this is causing water getting in if its not shut properly (it can shut and the light goes out but not shut properly) if you know what i mean.

Hi, I'm Peter from Denmark - Great forum

I have the same problem: Driver door can't close properly. The windows miss-fits - and I have to SLAM the door real hard to make it close at all. Minde that the driver site are in the left site here in Denmark(!) But the door-problems sounds similar to me.

Car is a 2.0 CC from december 2003, and had this problem right from day one. I have now given my dealer a writen note about this problem. They are giving my car a 2nd overlook, but don't seam too happy to accept my problems. Good to hear that I'm not the only one with this problem ... I think

Will let you know about any fixing from my dealer.

So I take it my suggestion to re-adjust the hook is not working for you guys? It did the trick for me and I presume that's exactly what the dealer will do as well.
