car was in at ecosse today getting some repairs done so i got them to look at the exhaust as it was blowing quite bad. turns out the centre section has corroded and came away from the back box.....

i thought it was worth trying to see if pug would replace it even although exhausts aren't normally covered under warranty.

went into the local dealer that i now use and they told me to contact arnold clark - the zoo where i bought the car. there's no way i'm ever dealing with them again so just asked for the number for pug customer services as i was gonna phone them.

probably detecting the thought that pug would put me back to them she must have got the service manager instead of giving me the number so i spoke to him. after inspecting the car while i was there, they have agreed to replace the full exhaust system under warranty :D

i told him the car is just under 2years old (2 weeks away) and only done 33k miles and it appears that pug will cover the exhaust in the first two years so i just made it :D

i remember recently in auto express, a reader with a 206 had problems with the exhaust and pug wanted £700 to replace it but with auto express intervening they backed down - i was ready with the details but there was no need :P

Derek that flange (ooh err!) is a real weak point in all the peugeot range..

Water/condensation sits on the joint and it rots very quickly from the inside out..
You are lucky be having it replaced FOC.. :D

Mine finally gave way a few months ago.. Had the end cut off and bolt together flanges welded onto the centre and back box. With a custom stainless pipe to fit in between.. Nice job too...
