A month  gees guys thats hectic. Mine hardly goes a week without a vallet service. Now with u guys having icy weather etc, i would have thought this would be more reason to make sure u keep it clean so the ice and snow dont start to rust or mess up your paint job?

   OMG - haven't cleaned mine at all yet. I promised him I'd clean him last weekend but we had torrential rain on Sunday. I was on a course last week, and not knowing where I would have to park, I didn't want him to be too attractive :|

Our CC is black (as is the TVR). I bought one of those "Turtle Wax Water Blades" from Halfords at the weekend, as every time I clean either car I end up with a load of water marks. Actually I've only used it on the TVR so far, but it certainly seems to get rid of the bulk of the water in a non-marking fashion. I think you'd probably need a chamois to get rid of the rest, particularly on the most curved bits. Must get another chamois -- mine seem to keep going missing. But the water blade is certainly easier than the chamois for the majority of the car.

Is that water blade thingy, like window cleaners use?

Yeah, Ive seen those, kinda like the ones window cleaners use, only the ones I saw had a clear plastic blade so as not to mark the paintwork. Think ill go get me one of those, since I tried a black window one a few weeks back on my (now old and traded in for 206cc) corsa and it did work pretty well, but made a silly black line where I pressed too hard. So the clear ones should work great.

Icy weather? I've seen no snow or ice at all yet. Anyway, as long as the paintwork's intact it doesn't matter how wet or dirty it gets - especially if you have Diamond Brite, Supagard or whatever else - it won't rust.

I thought Steve was lazy for not cleaning mine for a month - but he washed it for me Christmas Eve so it's only been three weeks. Best pressie of all!

But in October, we gave both cars a full on wax with Mer so it only needs a quick wipe over now for it to be clean again ;)
