This wil be my very first time with a flat tyre!.

Being prepared as I always am, not, I got me Spray out the boot!.
It's all pumped up with glue (or what ever it is). I was told I can just leave that stuff in it and carry on and forget about it!?

This can't be true. I got to replace it, haven't I?
Or does that stuff last?

Chris.

Well i would say it depends how big the puncture is and how new the tyre is. I personally would rather change the tyre and keep the damaged one as a spare...

Well, I got it changed.
£94 for a round rubber!

They said that if I had not put that spray stuff into it then they could have repaired it.

Sounds like a good advert for getting a spare tyre.

Fortunatly when someone pranged my back wheel arch and scuffed the wheel, the repair was done before a new wheel arrived from France so they had to leave my old one on. When the new wheel arrived I had the tyre swapped over and had a part worn tyre put on the scuffed wheel. Cost £22 and fits in the boot even with the roof down.
