A friend of mine just bought the 307 cc. He is the one who sold me his 206 cc.
I just drove in the back of the car and had a look at everything and i must say it is like a spaceship! The roof mechanism is improved. Everything is automatic now. You need not to open any lock anymore. And the window seals are improved too. If the door is locked the window is parked in the U-formed seal. If you open the door the window is lowered for about 4 mm to make it possible to open the door. The car has a comfortable suspension like a limousine (my 206 cc is more sportive). The car boot is VERY large. I am not sure but even if the roof is open there is enough room for baggages.

I am very impressed about that car.

Yes the lowering of the side windows by a few mm when opening the door is a good idea. BMW was doing this a few years ago on their coupes. And the roof mechanism is undoubtedly quieter. It is nice that you do not have to unbolt the roof latches. Some nice touches that would be great if transferred on to the 206cc.

IMO. I think the 206cc is a better driver’s car though and I personally didn’t think much of the boot space in the 307cc or the way it drove in comparison to the 206cc. The 307cc shape is growing on me though.

Last month there was one in a garage showroom where I had to take my car in for the brake recall. It looked nice on the outside, but I noticed paint flaking of some of the switched and someone had kindly left a durex on the passenger seat (unopened). Hmm wonder if someone had borrowed it for the weekend or if it was an old customer tying to imply something!

Yes, my TVR does this too. Although sometimes not too reliably. And, unlike Peugeot, they don't seem to be able to make leak-proof window seals either :(

I had a look at the site and TVR are expensive sports cars. Isn't it a shame then if the window is leaking ?

Some cars can be forgiven for leaking.

TVRs are such cars.

Of course, you don't notice the window leaking when you're concentrating on why the floor's leaking ;)

We had a Chimera at work (company car, nice!) and the guy who drove it left and we kept the car. Three months of it sitting outside the office and we noticed that it had turned into a swimming pool!

Fortunately mine has a roof, so it doesn't leak quite that much.
Dynamo -- mine's a Cerbera (see avatar to the left), but I didn't buy it new, mainly as I don't have the other side of £45,000 around.... ;)

Carl, what are the running costs like on a TVR. I have always wanted something a bit special, but have always shied away from anything above 2litres that isnt mass-mass production. I have always been under the impression that its one thing buying a car like a TVR and another thing running one. So is it a hassle getting services and stuff done on it. How do running costs compare with the cc?

Well I've only had it a few months, and I really only drive it at weekends. If you do 6k a year in it, it should be manageable. If you do 12k a year, you need two services -- main dealer prices are £650 for the small one and £995 for the big one, but I go to an indy.

Mine has about 42,000 on the clock and is 6 years old. It has over £12,000 of receipts. I'm hoping that means that everything's now fixed, but my plan is to run it until the first major thing goes wrong, fix it, then sell it.

HTH.

I finally got around to test driving a 307CC. The impression overall is positive - very solid feel, simpler and quieter roof mechanism and nice shorter travel on the manual gear shift. I drove the sport version as that's the one I am considering (I think it's called a 180 in Europe).

As much as I am impressed there's also a little bit of disappointment. The pick up from a standing position is sluggish, and I particularly noticed this when I got back into my 206CC. Yes, they are very different types of cars, but how I wish I could have the best of both worlds in terms of the 307's "firmness" on the road.

Not quite sure whether I will take the plunge for the 307CC, for as many redeeming features that it has I didn't come away from the test drive with a wow!
Cheers
