I did a search on this but couldn't find anything.

Driving home last night after a busy day at work, I got onto the M27 and got hit by a fat rock (wee stone actually).
It's chipped the windscreen just behind my rear view mirror. It's only chipped the outside but I can see little cracks running off it.

Anyone...getting to the point. What sort of price to replace the windscreen from Pug or should I just get it repaired? Hasn't the windscreen got heat reflective material on it? might seem pricey to change the whole lot.

Cheers,
Chris.
:)

P.s I would take a picture but the Mrs's stole the camera before leaving to China!.

£100 is most common (apparently £50 isnt enough to stop people smashine the back screen if the heated rear window stops working)

I had 2 side windows smashed on my old 306 by little b :censored: ds playing with marbles and a catapult. My insurance dealt with it, i just had to pay £50 excess.

Is your CC a 2.0 or a 1.6? I ask because on the 2.0 the rain sensor for the auto windscreen wipers is behind the rear view mirror.

I had the same with my 306 - got a small crack right at the bottom. I stupidly didn't get it filled and with all the hot weather it suddenly cracked halfway up the screen.

My windscreen cover was only £50 on insurance, and it doesn't affect any no claims bonus etc.

I'm sure if u have comprehensive insurance some places dont even charge u the excess - dont think ours does (from my understanding of reading the details :? )

Usually if it is fixable it isn't chargeable but if it needs replacing it is £50!

If your windscreen excess is £1000 I hate to think what your accident excess is.
Mine is £50 and have had much glass replaced in my time, think there was only 1 window on the Tigra which was original by the time I'd sold it, Even had to have the BIG back window done! Never had anything repaired as it's always been in thousands of bits.
But yeah, get it sorted quick because with the changing weather it can spread loads and will then be unrepairable.

highest excess i have ever seen for windscreens is £60.

if yours is £100 then a windscreen bought from pug would cost a lot more than that anyway.
