Sent my letter of severe complaint to my dealer on Monday - outlined all problems - both mechanical and service based - in great detail.

I put in the letter that I expected a reply within seven days which will obviously be Monday but I have to say that I am amazed they did not get back immediately due to the strength of my complaints and threats to reject the car.

Should I call today and find out whats happening or give them the full seven days?

I know Derek & Rob will have a good opinion on this one!!

Cheers

Well you said you'd give them seven days, I'd follow this by the letter.

I wouldn't seem to eager to contact them within that period - balls in their court- after all its them that needs to feel the pressure not you. If they haven't responded then you've given them the rope to hang themselves with. You can then follow it up with a rejection.

I've done this countless times with products (not cars though) and it works every time for me but usually only once they know you mean business.

Good luck, Robbie.

Thanks for your thoughts Robbie. I agree that if I do not contact them they have given themselves the rope to hang themselves by!!

I will wait until next week now and if I have not heard anything I will follow up with another letter.

I just want to get this sorted out as soon as possible!

Cheers

Stephen, you know it makes sense,

(just make sure you send the letter by recorded delivery so they can't dispute they haven't got it)

cheers,

Robbie.

Stephen,

Giving an exact time to respond within is a good idea and as you gave it you should allow it to expire before making further contact.

Did your letter go to Peugeot, Dealer or both ? Mines went to both by recorded delivery. Both received it on the Monday, i received a reply from the dealer head office on the tuesday acknowledging the letter and another on the thursday from the after sales manager to arrange a meeting. Two weeks had passed without a reply from Peugeot, i sent a brutally honest e-mail regarding my feelings on their attitude and i got an e-mail response the following day and when requested a written response a few days later.

I also stated in the letter that the car may be rejected - obvious to say Peugeot couldn't care less.
