Got a 206cc se and had it since 1st sep,
its got 7500 miles on the clock and
its developing an intermittent starting problem. The starter ignition and everything else comes on but its as if there's no fuel going to engine. Think it might be something to do with the immoboliser or fuel cut off but the key unlocks the doors ok and had them reprogrammed once. Does
anyone else have a similar problem?

I know of a few people who have had problems with Peugeot immobilisers on 106's and 306's which cause the car not to start (starter motor fine, but engine doesn't fire up).

Ask the dealer to check the immobiliser out.

If that doesn't solve it, it may just be the cold/wet weather we are experiencing at the moment.

Hope this helps

I only got my CC last thursday had had starting problems on sunday and thursday (yesterday).

both times took about 5 attempts to start the car. every time the message "engine immobiliser fault" came up on the info display panel.

i tried relocking and unlocking the car but it didnt seem to make any difference. i have the car booked in for wednesday to look at that and a very annoying rattle in the rear (free with any peugeot).

i will post their findings - if there are any.

derek

spooky, mines been a pain to start all day.

Got in the car this morning started fine, then drove for a few minutes stopped switched off the engine, returned to the car tried to start it and just got a clicking noise ????

got out, armed then disarmed it, got in tries to start, engine turns over but no joy, tried about 5 times then the engine fires up then dies then tried again it starts, drive for about 2 hours park up leave the car for about 30mins and again it won't start then starts but dies, if i press the gas pedal it starts ok the revs dip down to about 300 revs like it's going to stall then idles about 800 revs (normal) done this about 6 times today same thing.

Any ideas alarm/choke/fuel pump ???

Cheers

I have an SE, & covered 22,000 miles since 1sy March and had No real problems   Which is a surprise cos my 206GT was a pain in the Ass...

But then again I became so exasperated with the car & Peugeot, that maybe I am just used to the 206's built in "entertainment"

Couldn't have been to bad an experience cos I bought the CC..

Hey Derek

Whem you find out what the rattle is in the back let me know please, i had rattle which they said was the exhaust heat shield, they then found 2 more and fixed them, now i have another which sounds like the boot in not shut properly, i think its to do with when they tried to fix the leak.....bloody peugeots are useless....but stylish!!:)

Yeah well i had an even worse problem today. I was stopped at the traffic lights, and went to move off and the accelerator would not respond and the car kept on stalling. I tried starting it up three times before it would start up and not stall. VERY WORRYING.

Any ideas what it could have been?
I was flooring the acceleration when trying to start the car but the rev counter would not budge, like the car totally lost all power.

I've got the 2 litre version so it might just be common to these.
The cars been starting fine recently but i've only been locking it and not using the immobliser, which seems to be the culprit.

Getting it checked out in a few days and will let you know.

eventually got my CC SE back today. they have replaced the transponder ariel which they claim is the reason for the starting problems.

they didn't replace the missing cap for the alloy wheel nut like they were supposed to - i expected this so i nicked 4 off their courtesy car for spares
