Well after the replacement seals Melanies car still leaks.

Checked my new one out and this leaks about as badly as my first one did. It leaks in the back and at the front when you apply the brakes (it went all over my sat nav screen  )

Gonna see what the dealer says today but I may be rejecting both cars and I dont think I will EVER buy another Peugeot car.

Sorry to hear that Rob, hope you get it sorted. Be sad to see you leave the club.

Rob,

My car leaked excessively in the early day, despite taking it in the only thing they could come up with was a total strip-down of the roof, as this was March 2001 I was not having them experiment on my car so I left it. As time has gone on, the leaks have gradually diappeared. Mine used to leak alot worse on braking, nowadays - not a leak in sight perhaps as the rubber has 'bedded in'. I'm now at 18K miles and no more damp patches on my lap....
It's annoying - I know, you could leave the windows and roof up then seal the things with silicon ?
I also understand your dismay with Peugeot, I have had problems with 2 dealerships and Peugeot Customer Services, a few problems with my car - but it was a new model, but... it won't put me off buying another. The 406 Coupe and the new 307cc are far too interesting to ignore.
Stick with it.

thats all very well but my old March 2001 leaked badly, Melanies leak is getting worse and my new one leaks badly.

I think I have been more than patient with Peugeot.

Booking a test drive in a Porsche Boxster for next week - I know they dont leak

It's funny how they have fixes for the leaks yet can't get it right on the production line. Although i love my CC, i couldn't say no to a Boxter!!

Rob, many thanks for the warning on the new Pugs! It's come at just the right time for me. I'm supposed to ring my Peugeot dealer back about a new 2002 model, now getting seriously worried.

Don't want to jump ship (I love my slightly leaky Pug - but don't want a new lemon either!! - perhaps delaying the change until I hear Peugeot have sorted their leaks may be the answer? I suppose Peugeot will only get their act together once people vote with their feet and place some financial strain on the company.

Really sad to hear about your woes, I had hoped that the new Pugs would have been sorted by now, but from your experience that is clearly not the case (I wouldn't say no to a Boxter either but for no folding metal roof).

Nah, wouldnt have expect 3 duff cars. I have to say though, I think this one must have missed their water proof testing. Its the worst leaking to date.

you would think with the type of car, it would undergo some type of water test at the factory due to the ongoing problems.

they are meant to undergo a 'monsoon test'

perhaps derbyshire weather isnt like a monsoon - the rain is cold.

It was running into the car whilst driving today, not the normal just under braking

more like a drizzle test

that's unless they test them, find out they leak then send them out to customers regardless of the quality.

Yes im still here, I know that this is a 206cc forum, and many of you are aware of the awful car and service I had, and that I will never touch Peugeot again. And you probably also know I bought a golf GTI 1.8 20v Turbo. I have to say its fantastic, so if you get really pi@@ed off and want something else I recommend it. And I got it cheaper than the 206cc.

Thanks-but no thanks! I'll stick with my slightly leaky Pug, I'm still in love.

I'm currently trying to sell mine but without losing to much money.

I've discovered that you can get a brand new full spec Impreza WRX for less than 17 grand.
It's a great car...
