Hi

Hope someone can advise me.

i order a new pug from my local dealer on the 27 April, and he said 2-3 weeks before i receive it. Just phoned him today he says car's ready. I asked if it was the new model and he said "No".

As i ordered the car when the new facelift was out i expect to get the latest model.

How do i stand on this.

when i ordered the car i expected to get the new model??
any advice would be grateful..

thanks :)

I guess you've signed or received an offer from them on paper?
Maybe on that there are some new specs or a nr you could use?
If not and you just 'expected'a new model without specifacally asked for it you've got not much ground to stand on as the dealer sold you a new car which it is... :?

if you didn't specifically request a new spec model then i don't think there's much you can do.

stock between new and old spec dooesn't change overnight as time is needed for old stock to be sold through.

I'd be annoyed too. I'd go with your instincts, what have you got to loose.

Hope you haven't paid fully for it yet, at least that might give you some room for negotiation if you want to argue the toss.

I would at least have a go an argue it out that your order was made after the new model came out so your reasonable expectation was that it was the new facelift version and this is what you expected, remember if you haven't yet paid them in full they might play ball.

As a last resort I might be looking for some sort of discout on the "old model" which I would argue will immediately effect your residuals before you've even driven it off the forcourt. After all, dealers often discount the "old pre-facelift" model to get rid of the remainder stock.

Well

Thanks for your replies so far

I've spoken to dealer,

They said If i don't want the car, then fine, but it will cost me my £500 deposit!! Can they do this.
I thought there be a cooling off period of 21 days or something?? someone has mentioned the 21 days consumer rights?

I then rang another Dealership who were very helpful and said that any 206cc ordered AFTER 24 April 03 would recieve the new model.
I ordered mine on the 27th !!. :) :)

Other interesting information I found out is that they trade upto 6% off the basic price before adding VAT and if anyone is interested in the old model then there dealers have a £400 "bonus" to play with.

How much you haggle depends on how much you get off this.

Also rang the AA legal helpline who advise that I find out when the car was built from the VIN number. Then find out from Peugeot Customer services when the new model went on sale ?

Does anyone know when the new model went on sale?? :?:
