Hi,

I am driving a 1.6cc auto (only model available in Singapore).

Just wonder have anyone did the Big Brake Conversion for Rear?

I have just converted my front to 306GTi Rotors (283mm), therefore find that the rear rotors are too small now. :?

what did you change to get the 283mm discs?
did you have to change the calipers and brake bells?
very interested in doing this
you could upgrade the rear discs to drilled
but haven't seen any bigger diamater discs for the rear
i would love to put the 283 in the front and move the old 266 vented discs to the back
that would be great

Hi All,

Juz wanna share with you guys what I have done with my car on the brakes....

Managed to convert the Front Brakes using Brembo calipers with 320mm Rotors.

The Rear Brakes using 290mm Rotors with original calipers (on the way).

My car pictures are available on the link below.

Thanks for posting my car pictures! :D

btw, I am from Singapore....

Hmmm....think about it.....if you upgrade your front brakes then the more potential there is for the weight to be thrown forwards onto the front wheels....

...which means the rear wheels become lighter...and therefore have less grip and will lock up more easily. so you actually need less braking power to the back!!

With EBDF (electronic brake force distribution) there will be no real issues with excess front brake force on braking.. As the contoller will compensate for it..

Ultimately though it is mechanical control that effects the braking.

It's hardly ideal if you are needing electronic devices to control wheel locking.
If you are going to have to reduce the rear braking effort electronically then why increase the braking power at the rear in the first place???
