Radio won't let me select preset station

Hi

Anyone had a problem like this one with their stereo?

I have tuned in 6 radio stations. Last night i changed from preset 2 to preset 5. On the display it highlighted 5 momentarily but then went back to preset 2. All the other presets would work but whenever i pressed 5 it jumped to preset 2.
Switching on and off made no difference. Had to re-tune preset 5 again before it would work.

Thought it was OK but then this morning i had the same problem but between presets 1 and 4 (select 4 jumps to 1). Again had to re-tune preset 4.

Is this a common problem that i should be looking into now, or is it just one of those things that i should just keep an eye on.

are the stations similar and u have rds set to 'on' ?

e.g. where i live there is radio forth 97.3 and clyde1 102.5 that are owned by the same holding company so if i'm losing transmission of say forth then it goes to clyde1 instead of looking for a better signal from forth.

I have the problem intermittently. All I do is manually move back to the channel using the stalk and then resetting the preselect button. A pain but bearable.

I have the same bloody problem, spoken to pug that many times and they deny its a problem and say they will assess it for only $120 a hour + parts,

its a common fault, but then sounds like there are a million common faults.

i cant stand it, you go to change the station and wallaaaa,,, goes back to number one, and if you leave it for long enough the radio stations will also all start to change names in the list!!

anyone know a fix? pleasee....

guys i have found this link, has problems with radio but its in a different language, anyone know german? well i think its german?
