Hi all,

I have my 1.6s now and was amazed to find that the quoted 40MPG is in fact really achievable :)

However the car was ordered with a devil silencer which I'm still waiting for the dealer to supply and fit. Will this drastically effect my now treasured MPG and also will fitting an improved flow rate filter or induction kit damage things further?

Can those with these mods already and a 1.6 let me know what they are getting MPG wise please.

Also interested to know if it improves over time as the engine loosens up.

If its going to knock a lot off I'll get the dealer to cancel the order for the exhaust and go down the upper and lower SP grille route instead as my "freebies".

Cheers

Dave

I was getting 34 MPG a few weeks ago - thats the best i ever have done. I think about 30 is reasonable but it goes down quite a bit if i decide to drive like a :censored: for a while!
