Broken manual release

Okay wot to do now.

Last week I opened the boot to find my little white toggle (and string) lying all lonely at the bottom of the boot. Any ideas on how to repair this. It seems to have been ripped out of its hole completely. Am I going to have to take it back to a dealer for repair or can I fix it myself?

i think it's a dealer fix

saying that though you ONLY need the white toggle thing IF/WHEN the roof fails and you need to do a manual reset of the roof :(see your handbook)
