Well some users appear to have had little problems with this link but others and me have.

I opened the link expecting a CC picture an got tens of jumping logos blotting out the screen, then both my anti-virus software appplications bleeped "spawn virus" warnings and kept flashing warnings long after I eventually managed to close the internet portal.

I had only just removed the last traces of a virus from the computer a while ago today

I have asked Lyndon to remove the link as stephen still decides its funny.

At least you all now have had an opportunity of a warning first before opening it.

Virus checkers tend to be quite over the top at times & report anything slightly untoward as a virus. The link didn't do anything harmful or nasty - just got me annoyed when I couldn't close the damn thing!

Still made me chuckle thou

I just got hundreds of little screens, like Matt said most virus checkers flag even the slightest little thing, often the default settings are way too sensitive. I just opened task manger and restarted explorer.exe and everything is back to normal.

I'm real sorry to hear that Mvoong.

I know different computers sometimes react in different ways to virus threats depending what software applications they have on board.

In my case I have a pretty modern computer with anti-virus software but Stephens link still messed it up for sometime after closing the internet portal and it continued to flag up the "spawn virus" warning on the temporary internet files until I managed to wipe them.

My virus software is supposed to flag up potential problems as soon as there is any any hint of danger. This sort of behaviour in the light of people flagging up their virus concerns and computer problems is wholly irresponsible and I'm pretty disgusted that Stephen hasn't had the good sense to remove it or that it hasn't been removed by a moderator by now

With a number of forum members having recent virus problems you can't be too careful and I believe thats reflected in Mvoong's crashed computer and loss of work.

Hopefully this warning will reduce the danger of any other members computers crashing because of the link.

Problem is , there is no moderators....

so no-one has responsibility to remove it....

Doh - oh well, maybe something needs changing if members computers and software may be adversely affected.

I know "Thu shalt not risk infecting and crashing other members computers by posting dubious links" isn't in the Rules (yet) but I would have hoped members would have been more sensible and had a moral responsibility to remove the link after some started reporting virus threats and adverse effects to their computer.

oh for gods sake stop crying. it isnt harmful. and if u aint saved work afer a few hours then that is irrisponsible in its self.

The last thing you expect to do when you open a link titled 'check out this wicked cc' is to save your work.

I don't think people expect to come on this forum knowing they run the risk of their machine crashing because of it...that is a sure fire way to deter people from using the forum.....

people may now think twice before clicking on something which aint a good thing.

I thought it was funny but if there is a risk then its not ideal for a forum

I would have deleted it myself but "I don't have the power!"

As to anything, there are two sides to the story and we can sit and argue who is right all day and all night but I have my suitcase to pack and also have better things to do.

It was a very misleading link which did cause problems with pcs including my own

Hope this is the end!
