Hi all, I am interested in buying a 206cc and have been looking through this web site and all i seem to find is owners who have had faults with their cars :(. Is there anyone out there who can convince me that buying a CC is the right thing to do ?. Also any ideas on where it is best/cheepest to get a CC from ?, dealer or car supermarket ? thanks for any advice you can give.

First off..... hiya  welcome to the site

yeah there are alot of people with problems on here, but thats wot u wud expect on a forum like this. I've had hardly any problems with mine and i know of many more people who havent had any problems. Most of the teething problems are out of the way and most cars now are fine, u do occasionally get the lemon here and there as u do with any car on the market.

We all love our CCs on here and they are great little cars

Depending on whether u want the best or the cheapest place.... best = uk dealer, cheapest = import.

Hope thats helped a little, and u go n buy ya CC :D

MMMMmmmmmm V-TEC u gotta love it :)

Howdy, tough one that Kid :| I like my car dont get me wrong, you get a hell of a lot of car for the money when you compare it to any other car in its catagory. But, when my 3 year warranty runs out, i'll be selling up and getting somthing else.
You soon forget all the problems though when you get that lid down, im sure everybody agrees. :D :D :D :P

Definitely get one mate.

It's fantastic in the summer and I stayed warm and cosy for six and a half hours on Friday battling through the snow chaos on my way home from work proving the benefit of a steel roof!

Don't get me wrong I've had a few teething troubles with my car surprisingly with the CD player of all things but nothing to make me regret buying one. There will always be a handful of new cars with particular problems whatever the make.

Being a forum it will always have a balance of people discussing the good and bad points about their cars but that's the idea of a forum.

My 'CC' gets the thumbs up from me.

I suppose you have to bear in mind that on forums people rarely post that nothing is happening and their car is fine.

From my experience: I bought my car from importers a 1.6 moonstone with alloys for £12,697 on the road (although was supposed to have the sports pack and cost £12,897).

So far the only problem I have had is squeaky brakes- which any new car could suffer from

If you are going to buy from an importer I think it is worth checking whether the cars are in stock before handing over your deposit- some people have been left waiting for over a year.

The advantage of buying from a main dealer is the customer service and one years extra warranty. You just have to decide whether this is worth the extra 2k?

just get one !

not read the above posts correctly but as others would say, you won't get people posting so say there is nothing wrong, just the problems. all cars in general get faults eventually of some kind and that is why you get a warranty.

my 1st CC (bought dec 01) was a complete lemon and although i was offered a full cash refund i paid £300 (hire payment) and took a replacement in march 02. faults with this CC have been minor and nothing to worry about.

so the logic here is if i can recommend them after the initial problems i had then they must be worth buying :D

I would have thought it was worth an extra 2k to AVOID the dealerships 'customer service'
