After weeks of patience , mine has now run out .
i am aware that many people have a lot of good to say abou Ecosse ... here goes.

I placed my order for Chrome Hoops with Ecosse on the 31/dec 02 (sorry Derek for my impatience) as they told me that the hoops were in stock and available for delivery on Jan 10th . 11 Jan no hoops so I contacted Ecosse I was told that there were none in stock and the hoops i had ordered were already reserved for someone else until the 10 Jan. They had collected betwwen the 31/12 and 10/1 so I now had to wait 3 weeks (today ) . Still no hoops so I cantacted Ecosse again and was told my hoops MAY be available in two weeks. I can even accept this but why did they insist on taking full payment on the day I ordered , knowing my hoops may not be with me for two months? End of rant :)

Turbo shandy may have something to do with it , and the spelling:drunk:

as with any business, Ecosse rely on their suppliers to deliver goods as agreed and do not manufacture the hoops themselves. if the supplier can't deliver then there isn't a lot the customer (in this case Ecosse) can do.

think about it this way ...... if you went into a supermarket and couldn't buy a bottle of coke as the supplier had failed to deliver to the store, would you say you had lost faith in that supermarket ? i don't think so.

hoops and a bottle of coke may be completely different items but the supply chain works in exactly the same way.

it's unfortunate that your only transaction with Ecosse hasn't gone as smoothly as you hoped but it does not represent their overall continuous service which is excellent.

in all my dealings with Ecosse, they have never been anything less than helpful which is the very reason why my CC is going into them on monday for some modifications.

I mailed Ecosse on Wednesday asking them how much for crystal vents. No reply yet. How much effort does it really take them to reply?

mattb,

from posts on the peugeot-gti.net forum i believe they get an average of 200 e-mails a day so sometimes they reply quickly and sometimes it can take longer.

if it's any help, the vents cost £48 +VAT. you would need to get them to give you a quote if you wanted them painted as well.

I did eventually get a reply back from Ecosse re the crystal vents.

My original mail was:

Just wondering how much the crystal bonnet vents are for the
CC in Aegean Blue. Also how easy are they to fit? Is it something I
could do or is it a garage job?

And the reply:

We could supply the vents but not painted, there are 5-6 variations on
the Aegean code. The vents are easily fitted as they pop on in exactly
the same fashion as the originals.

So I still didn't get a price from them!!! The only reason I was interested in them was coz it may have been cheaper buying the pre-sprayed vents from Ecosse rather than getting my garage to spray my existing ones... obviously not!

I would seem that Ecosse don't like to supply mail order item pre painted. I am sure it would not be difficult to find out righ paint code. I guess Eccose don't have the time or find it too much hassle to supply prepainted.

Get their vents though...... much nicer than original.

I bought my vents about two years 18 months ago and they painted mine for me and I had Agean Blue. I believe they were around £100 but had to wait 2 months for them.

With regards to paint, that shouldn't be too hard. They did an excellent job on mine all they wanted was the paint code, which is on the surround of the drivers door and is a three letter code.

Good luck :)

Cheers for the replies.

I may buy them from Ecosse unpainted and then get the garage to spray them at the same time they do my rubbing strips/bumpers - at least I'll be more sure of a colour match.

Any hints/tips as to replacing them? Is it just a snap-in/screw job or does it involve gluing?

Damn, really need to figure out how to get free stuff out of my dealer! They even wanted to charge me 30 mins labour for disabling the radio in the BSI!
