So Pug have confirmed that aftermarket filters will void the warranty.

Guess the K&N comes out before any dealer visits then...

Any related parts, I would imagine. They can't claim that an air/oil filter will affect your roof, for example.

I doubt it would stand any legal challenge.

Interestingly, in the US manufacturers aren't allowed to invalidate warranties because of aftermarket filters unless they supply their own filters free of charge. I'm surprised the EU hasn't followed suit.

Hi

I assume this is official :(

I thought K&N now provide a warranty included in the purchase, where if the air filter is responible for engine damage they will coff up, or is that SuperChips?

If there was any damage to an engine that had a K&N fitted Im sure Pug would blame the filter for it regardless, and K&N will state that the filter was not responsible. Not a position Im sure anybody would like to be in, but would be interesting to find anyone that has been though it, to see what the outcome was.

So out comes my K&N, well for dealer visits anyway :D

Hi

Derek dont you find it makes a difference?

Ive had a K&N in my current CC and my last Pug 206GT, and even though it's not a massive difference I felt the car picks up from lower revs and seems to have a bit more mid range torque.

Like I said it's not a massive difference but worth the 30 quid or so.

Saying that though, if I have a complete engine melt down (now is that tempting fate or what!) and I cant get my K&N out I think Pug will stick 2 fingers up at my warranty, so I might consider doing the same. :(

there maybe is a difference but i don't notice it as it's so little but it definitely doesn't improve mpg as some ppl have suggested in the past.
