Just gone into my dealer this morning and told them if they want to de-panel my car they can sod off!!

Went in with the ususal knocking from the shocks, both sides, and they said there is something stuck behind the drivers rear panel so they would have to de-panel the car........

over the last 2 weeks I've thought about it and today I went in and told them I am going to seek a second opinion......

you should have seen his face......he was not happy.....'well if you want us to fix it' he said to which I replied ' I don't know much about cars but even I know this noise is from both sides and yes I want it fixed but broken which is what de-paneling will do. Can you guarantee it will be the same when I get it back?' ...he remained silent.....'there you go' I said.

I asked them to fix one thing that they should have done last time it was in and left........

wonder what they are saying now......

I know some might say I have been a tw*t to them but I love my car and I do not want the monkeys damaging it!!!!!

UPDATE:

Just phoned the next nearest dealer who said they would never consider a de-panel unless it was last resort and for the problem I am describing it should not even be needed....

just shows how monkeys can differ from one baboon to another.......

anyway its booked in at the new dealer ...lets see what they come back with

i wouldnt say u have been a twat to them. u payed alot of money for a car u love, and its obvious u are going to be careful about what u let them to to your car. removing the panels does seem drastic.

I wouldn't let them de-panel my car under warranty either, I'd be more inclined to be asking for a new car if such major surgery was necessary, I think you did the right thing by seeking a second opinion.
