I have a 206cc SILVER/BLACK edition with the chrome boot rack. However I wish to remove this rack as I suspect that someone has attempted to steal it, since 1 of the plastic covers are missing, and i'm worried that they will come back with the tools and remove it.
The question is, how do I remove it?? There is an alan (hexagon) key with the wheel foam in the boot that appears to fit the inside bolts. However the outside bolts are the same shape but have a notch in the middle which stops this particular hexagon key fitting in. Do I need to take it to the dealer to get the rack removed.
I'm desperate to get this done today, incase they come back for it tonight!

When I bought my boot rack it came with an alan key shaped to fit the notch. I would of thought that one should have been supplied with the car. Check it out with your dealer.
As for the plastic cover missing, it is easy to dislodge them when you are cleaning the rack, the same thing happened to me, Im sure mine just fell off rather than someone trying to steal it.

Adrian - Where was the alan key that you used located? In the car? I've been thinking that it has proberly just been dislodged, infact I remeber looking under it a few days before I noticed it was missing, but i'm majorly paranoid and have convinced myself they were trying to steal my rack.
It's actully a serious problem for me, at least 3 times a week I have a dream about someone stealing/breaking into my car.

My cc is a standard SE supplied without a boot rack, I bought one separately and the alen key was supplied with the rack.
Dont have nightmares, try a bottle red wine before going to bed, I find it helps me to sleep.
I know what its like tho, there is no room in my garage at the moment, so the cc has been relegated to the street, for the first few days it was out there I was forever checking that it was still there. That soon passed and now I just check every half hour.

Duncan - how did you steal my exact thoughts over a week before i even saw this post? I really dont think i can add to or disagree with any of that!Your assuming that becaouse something is missing from your car someone has removed it
If you've read this site for a while and seen the quality of some of the cars. You'd assume with Peugeots buid quality that it had fallen of
Remove the rack anyway they're silly.

Dont know whether it is the boot rack, the wheel trims, or just the angle the photo was taken at, but that cc looks WRONG somehow! Maybe its because i have gone over so many bumps in mine that things have moved/fallen off/rusted away and i've forgotten what the cc looks like on delivery? Or maybe its because the dealership has spent more time with my cc over the last two weeks than i have and im beginning toi forget what MINE looks like!
