I know some members have panned consumer programs programs such as watchdog, etc, rougue traders are another one of these sometimes blamed for being too one sided but I think it shows the importance of exposing these dubious ripoffs and will probably help to curb such devious practises.

Red rag to bull........... hey

I actually like Rogue Trader it does expose the real rip off merchants

I only saw part of the RAC programme. Cos of what I do for a living I realy like the builder ones

If the miss selling of parts and services can be linked to a failure of management not a few individuals RAC get what they diserve in this case. Setting of any sort of sales target is unacceptade in an organisation which is intended to help those in unfortunate situation

I hate Watchdog trial by television at its worst. Nicky Cambell is an arrogant and rude p***k (only my opinion)

I like Watchdog. It's far better than Neighbours :P

Seriously though, Watchdog does do a good job a lot of the time. Sometimes though, they get don't actually understand perfectly acceptable procedures and/or the legal side of issues (such as the piece on Virgin Cars and delivery delays a couple of months back).

Rogue Traders, OTOH, is fantastic. The trader in question condemns themself on camera - no need to make up stories about them. The RAC one last night, for example, has directly lead to the RAC scrapping it's targets and incentives for parts sales, hopefully resulting in better customer service.

At the end of the day, an organisation like the RAC is 'owned' by its members. It should serve its members, not try to get as much money as possible out of them. Ideally, it would be a non-profit organisation but how many of those are left these days?

well if anyone does need a battery - dont buy one from the RAC or AA etc.

Get them to tow you to your nearest COSTCO. A battery for the CC is approx £40 and that is guaranteed for 5 years. Be cheeky, get them to fit the new one for you as well :)
