The oil gauge on my 1.6 Auto has started to flash error ... this only happens now and then.
I have checked the oil level manually and there is enough oil.
This morning the flash occured again but this time the stop light came on.
Called Peugeot service who said not a major prob bring it in next week ... they said I could drive despite the stop light comming on at startup.
Any ideas?
Grant
The car is less than 1 month old and only 700k
First (and hopefully last) Problem

I think it's part of the 'Peugeot welcome Package' .......... it happened to me once ....... not long after I picked my car up.
I was driving at night and the temperature needle started to move closer to the red zone .......... then the 'Stop' light came on followed by all the warning/indicator lights ... All came on at the same thing. I quickly pulled over to the side, switch-off the engine, waited a minute or so and restart .......... everythings back to normal and I haven't had the same problems again.
cheers

Thanks Wilson ... after posting my question I did a search and found this has been a common problem ... in one of the posts it mentioned that Peugeot was about to send out a fix (post said due in dec 2002) ....... its not so much the gauge that gives me the shits .... its that the manual states if the stop light comes on ... dont drive and consult a service centre ... I did this and was told dont worry about it bring it in sometime next week ....... I bet if, as the stop light is also linked to other systems other than oil, there was a problem such as brake failure due to probs with brake fluid Peugeot would be quick to point to the manual as a way out of any liability.

Well my car spent the day at the service centre and the verdict ... new instrument cluster (to fix the oil gauge problem) and a new radio (memory problem) ... parts are being ordered and should take 2 weeks.

My car has been spotted
I went back to A&J today to fix the bubbles on the tint windows.
While I was at A&J this afternoon, I bumped into another cc owner .......... what a small world, his name is also Wilson and he also drives a moonstone 1.6l cc. My long lost twin brother???
