While driving on a busy dual carriage way I was stunned when my accelerator pedal suddenly hit the deck mid depress. Due to there suddenly being only about an inch of movement on the pedal I rapidly lost speed and pulled over .
I opened the bonnet to find a lonely springclip on top of the airfilter box. On closer inspection I found this clip had sprung off the ribbed part of the throttle cable causing it to loose tension , I re-tensioned this at idle until just before the revs picked up and merrily continued my journey. Check that clip all loyal cc owners.
Also .
Had roof down today 9am - sunny but cold -1.

Thats happened to me before, I pulled off my drive got about 100 yards down the road and lost all power. What really worried me was that the accelerator pedal wouldn't come back up and the car died, I pulled over popped the bonnet and noticed my clip was missing. It only took me just under an hour to find it as I had to walk all the way back up the road and just my luck there it was sitting on the drive. It was because I'd cleaned the engine and must have made it loose so their always worth checking.

POXY CLIP!!
