DONT hide the keys. The B******s will just come upstairs after the keys and you could get a good beating into the bargain.

At the end of the day its only a car when your personal safety is in danger.

sorry to hear your news. hopefully they won't find it and you will get a new one on the insurance - certainly a lot better getting it back damaged and it being repaired.

I feel for you - I don't know what I'd do if my CC went walkabouts.

If it makes you feel any better a friend from work had a similar thing happen to him - He went out for the night and came back to an empty driveway... There was a BMW 330ci and an M5 on the drive when he went out.

Oh dear! Sorry to hear your woes.

I always take all car keys when I go out and I take them to the bedroom at night so Derek can't get em.

Thanks for your kind words.

Most others i have mentioned this to seem to think that they were probably after my Dads WRX as they are very stolen at the moment. His keys were out of sight and the house alarm went off so I think they may have just grabbed the Pug keys and legged it.

Anyone know how many moonstone 206cc 2.0SE's there have been sold? Can't be that easy to ring a car like that I would have thought?

Sounds like you dad had a narrow escape but you didn't :(

I'm real sorry to say this but its likely your car is in bits by now. Thieves often sell new cars to a dodgy breakers as its lucritive and less risky to dispose of cars that way than by ringing them, or even scrap the car themselves an sell the discounted parts in Autotrader/Exchange and Mart etc.

I'm told that if it's in bits, at least they won't be able to use them. All the electronic parts are coded to each other so that if they're separated from the car they cannot work. Or so my dealer said anyway.

At least that might be a small consolation. Very sorry to hear  :x
